2008 MEN'S RETREAT
(Men with a Mission Mindset)

Location: Refreshing Mountain Camp - Stevens, PA

Keynote Speaker:

Dr. Rod Cooper   Dr. Rod Cooper comes to Gordon-Conwell Seminary from Denver Seminary, where he was Associate Professor of Leadership and Director of the M.A. in Leadership program. Prior to that, he was Director of the Robert Pamplin Jr. Leadership Institute at Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Cooper has a reputation nationally and internationally as a powerful and impactful communicator. He has spoken to a variety of audiences, including leadership conferences (with speakers such as Ken Blanchard), the Pentagon, Presidential Appointees, Promise Keeper Stadium events, Dennis Rainey “I Still Do” conferences and various Bible conferences.

 

Dr. Cooper was also a chaplain for the Houston Oilers and the Houston Astros franchises as well as speaking to many other professional teams. In his private practice, he specializes in couples, families, minority and men’s issues.

Dr. Cooper has written numerous books, articles and published sermons. He is the author of Kids in Sports with Bill Perkins; We Stand Together; Double Bind: Escaping the Contradictory Demands of Manhood; Shoulder to Shoulder: The Journey from Isolation to Brotherhood; and Commentary on the Book of Mark in the Holman New Testament series

Accommodations:

Bunkhouse
Can accommodate up to 240 people in our newly painted and remodeled bunkhouses. All bunk houses are carpeted and have central air conditioning and heat. Bunks 1 to 4 have two commodes and three showers per section. Bunks 5 & 6 have three commodes and seven showers per section. Remember to bring linens/sleeping bags, pillows and towels.

Lodges
27 lodge rooms each sleep up to 4 men. Most have a queen, futon, and two bunk beds. Remember to bring linens/sleeping bags, pillows and towels.

Camping – Campers, Tents
Refreshing Mountain Camp offers private sites for RVs, campers, pop-ups, and tents. There are three different types of sites, categorized as follows:

Sites with water and electric hookup (dumping station is available at no extra cost), and rustic sites (no water or electric).
